Beyoncé and husband Jay-Z reported losing a combined 110 pounds after a strict vegan cleanse diet. The strict vegan cleanse diet lasted three weeks, however, Beyoncé still has one vegan meal daily to maintain weight loss. In December 2013 husband Jay-Z expressed a desire for a “physical and spiritual cleanse”, then he and Beyoncé decided to cut meat and animal products out of their diets for three weeks. Beyoncé revealed that while pregnant she weighed 195 pounds, and lost 65 pounds on her strict vegan cleanse diet along with her combined cardio and strength training exercises. At five foot seven Beyoncé is now 130 pounds in size two pants, all from a 22 day plant-based diet. Beyoncé’s trainer, Marco Borges says consistency is the key to success, and running sprint intervals for quick cardio sessions similar to high intensity interval training is how Beyoncé loss the weight.

The Vegan diet consists of plant-based foods only. Another piece of Beyoncé weight loss advice is to eat organic. Also on the vegan cleanse it’s important to get 8 to 10 glasses of water every day. It is important to incorporate cruciferous vegetables such as onions and garlic into your meals. When you’re on a vegan cleanse, drink only fresh juices and avoid alcohol. Also avoid refined carbohydrates such as white flour, processed anything, white pasta, food additives, preservatives, sugar, caffeine, and of course animal products.

At the time of the cleanse, it was unknown whether Beyoncé would stay vegan after the 22 days were over. It appears now that they are eating animal products again but are consistently having one vegan meal a day.
