How to Cook Shirataki Noodles to Make Them Delicious

How to Cook Shirataki Noodles
Have you been hearing a lot about the benefits of Shirataki noodles? These yummy noodles are a fantastic alternative to traditional carb-loaded pastas. Plus, they are gluten-free, vegan, and calorie-free.

But even if you want to give these noodles a try, you may not know how to cook Shirataki noodles to make them delicious. If that is the case, what you need to know first is the fact that these noodles will not have any flavor on their own, and they will instead pick up the flavors of whatever they are paired with. Therefore, it takes a bit of strategy to incorporate other foods, spices, herbs, and sauces to make the noodles have an irresistible taste.

Check out the tips below if you want to know how to cook Shirataki for your entire family.

Drain the Noodles

Start by draining your Shirataki noodles, making sure that all of the water has been discarded. You should then put your noodles into a large sieve so that you can wash them thoroughly under some running water.

Boil the Noodles

Once your Shirataki noodles have been cleaned under the running water, you can transfer them into a pot of boiling water. Cook the noodles only for about two or three minutes. This step will help to remove all of the unpleasant odor that these noodles can have.

Drain the Noodles Again

Once the noodles have been boiled, you can drain them again. After discarding all of the water yet again, you can put the noodles into a hot pan that has not been coated with any liquids or grease. Fry up your noodles for about 10 minutes over a medium-high heat. You will notice that they produce loads of steam, but that is exactly what you want to happen. The goal here is to get rid of as much water as you possibly can without drying the noodles out. If your noodles get too dry, you will notice that they end up shrinking significantly. To prevent this drying, turn the noodles with a pair of kitchen tongs. Doing so will also help to maintain the noodles’ popular texture.

Add Your Favorite Ingredients

Once you are done, you can place the noodles into a bowl and then add whatever ingredients you want, such as peanut sauce and a variety of fresh and colorful vegetables.

Now that you know how to cook Shirataki noodles, you have yet another healthy and delicious option to add to your weekly meal plans.
